Park Chu-young will lead South Korea's attack in its opening World Cup match against Russia in Group B after being preferred to fellow striker Kim Shin-wook.

Goalkeeper Jung Sung-ryong keeps his place despite Kim Seung-gyu putting pressure on the team's long-time No. 1, who has been struggling for form.

Experienced midfielder Igor Denisov was left out of Russia's first lineup of the tournament, with coach Fabio Capello choosing Denis Glushakov, Viktor Faizulin and Oleg Shatov in central midfield in the absence of injured captain Roman Shirokov.

Alexander Kokorin is the lone Russia striker for the last of the first round of matches in the World Cup's group stage.

Belgium and Algeria are the other teams in Group H.
