Green Bay Packers nose tackle Letroy Guion celebrates after the Packers' 24-21 win against the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis.
The Green Bay Packers announced Friday they re-signed free agent defensive tackle Letroy Guion. Multiple reports indicate Guion signed a three-year contract, $11.25 million.
Guion signed with the Packers in 2014 and has played 29 games with 53 tackles (35 solo) and 3.5 sacks, all of which came in '14. He had 21 tackles (13 solo) in 13 games in 2015. Guion spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2008 draft out of Florida State.
Guion was suspended for the first three games of the 2015 season after being arrested in the offseason on felony marijuana possession and possession of a firearm charges. Guion served no jail time, reaching a plea agreement to pay a $5,000 fine.
The signing of Guion bolsters Green Bay's defensive front and also calls into question the future of fellow defensive tackle B.J. Raji, who is a free agent.
