Pachuca and U.S. midfielder Jose Torres will miss the remainder of the Mexican Apertura season with a broken foot that will sideline him for several months.

Torres had surgery Wednesday, and is expected to be sidelined through December when the Apertura season ends. A regular for the U.S. under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann, Torres will also miss U.S. friendlies in October and November.

The 23-year-old has played for Pachuca since 2006, and made his U.S. debut in 2008. He has since made 13 appearances for the U.S. national team.

The U.S. is already scheduled to play Honduras and Ecuador in October and will likely play two more friendlies later in the year.
