Charles Odum scored 16 points to lead Portland State to a 71-69 victory over Weber State on Thursday night.

Melvin Jones added 15 points for the Vikings (10-8, 3-3 Big Sky), and Phillip Thomas had 13.

Scott Bamforth led the Wildcats (9-8, 3-3) with a game-high 20 points. Lindsey Hughey and Trevor Morris each had 15 points, and Kyle Bullinger chipped in with 13.

Portland State battled back from a 37-33 halftime deficit and used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to take a 58-50 lead after Jones hit a 3-pointer with 8:02 left.

The Wildcats tied it at 60 on a 3-pointer by Bullinger and had a chance to win, but Hughey was called for traveling with 5.4 seconds to play and Weber State down 70-69. Jones' free throw iced it for the Vikings.

Weber State shot 50 percent to Portland State's 44 percent.
