PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) - Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden is likely to miss the rest of the season after breaking his left kneecap in Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets, the Trail Blazers said.

Oden, who was injured in the first quarter, will undergo surgery to repair the fracture but no date has been set for the procedure, the team said on their website (www.nba.com/blazers).

The former No. 1 draft choice for the Trail Blazers was averaging 11.7 points and led Portland in rebounds (8.2 per game), blocks (2.32) and field goal percentage (63.0).
