Norwich City acquired defender Javier Garrido on loan from Italian side Lazio on Thursday, pending international clearance.

Garrido, 27, has previous experience in England with Manchester City, where he made 49 Premier League appearances from 2007-10. He joined Lazio in 2010, and played 21 Serie A matches.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be bringing in somebody of Javier's quality. He has played in La Liga, Serie A, and the Premier League, so he is a player of real experience," Norwich manager Chris Hughton said.

Garrido, who played for Spain at the youth level, started his career with Real Sociedad. He made almost 100 appearances in La Liga.
