Cape Girardeau, MO – No criminal charges will be filed against the 10 football players at Southeast Missouri State whom the university said hazed teammates.
The university said in a statement that players wrapped the arms, legs and mouths of some teammates in duct tape before they carried them from the locker room to the field at Houck Stadium last Friday. Two of the players were duct- taped together at their waists and legs.
No player was injured. The names of those involved have not been released, but they may face discipline from the university.
The Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney's office has declined to press charges.
The university instituted a strict anti-hazing policy following a fatal hazing at a campus fraternity in 1994.
Southeast Missouri State is coached by Tony Samuel, the 2010 Eddie Robinson Award winner.
