MADISON, Wis. – A two-game slide has exposed some concerns for No. 9 Wisconsin.
The Badgers (16-2, 3-2 Big Ten) have allowed opponents to shoot more than 50 percent in losses to Indiana and Michigan. That's a startling number for a team that overall is allowing opponents to shoot 41 percent on the season and is second in the league in scoring defense at 62.8 points per game.
There's no panic in Madison, but the Badgers say they need to play with more consistency on the defensive end for the full 40 minutes.
Wisconsin boasts a balanced offense and a formidable frontcourt featuring forwards Sam Dekker and Frank Kaminsky. Freshman Nigel Hayes is a spark off the bench.
Coaches say this season's new frontcourt is working on recognizing defensive situations quicker.
