TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State offensive line coach Rick Trickett will not be at the game against No. 5 Notre Dame due to a health issue.
The university announced Saturday that graduate assistant David Spurlock, who played on the FSU offensive line from 2008-2011, will coach the unit.
The exact health issue wasn't disclosed.
Trickett is in his eighth season at Florida State. The 66-year-old helped former Seminole Bryan Stork win the 2013 Remington Trophy given to the top center in the nation. Stork was drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft to the New England Patriots.
Second-ranked Florida State is starting four seniors and redshirt freshman Ryan Hoefeld on the line. Hoefeld entered the lineup two games ago when senior Austin Barron injured his arm.
