Quincy Acy added 13 points for the Bears, including five in a row to spark an important 10-0 run in the second half.

Chase Tapley poured in 28 points for the Aztecs (3-1), who suffered their first loss after opening the season with three home wins in three days over the weekend. It was only their fourth loss (37-4) since the start of last season.

San Diego State proved pesky after falling behind by 16 points midway through the second half, but never got closer than seven and shot just 35.6 percent for the game.

Both teams committed 21 turnovers.
