Danica Patrick’s weekend went from excellent to exasperating with just a touch of a teammate’s fender.

Patrick was entering Turn 3 on Lap 49 of Saturday’s Drive for COPD 300 at Daytona International Raceway, when she was tapped by her JR Motorsports teammate Cole Whitt.

The contact sent Patrick’s No. 7 Chevrolet down to the apron where it turned right and went up into the outside wall.

Patrick, who on Friday became only the second woman to win a pole in a NASCAR Nationwide Series race, was forced to the garage for extensive repairs.
