NFL Hall of Fame coach and NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs has told a group of 600 South Carolina inmates that they can find a second chance in religion.

Gibbs spoke Tuesday in the sweltering yard of the Turbeville Correctional Institution. He told inmates they should choose to play for God, who is on the winning team. Gibbs says inmates should follow the rules of life laid out in the Bible, which he called the playbook.

Gibbs told the prisoners of his own bankruptcy almost 30 years ago and said none of their problems are too big for God.

Gibbs won three Super Bowls with the Washington Redskins and his NASCAR team has won three NASCAR Sprint Cup titles.

Former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy spoke at a prison in Columbia in March.
