The Brooklyn Nets signed forward Josh Childress on Thursday.

The 6-foot-8 Childress played in 34 games for the Phoenix Suns last season, averaging 2.9 points and 2.8 rebounds, totals well below his career averages of 9.5 and 4.9, respectively.

Selected sixth overall by Atlanta in the 2004 draft, the Stanford product has started 70 of his 373 career NBA games with the Hawks (2004-2008) and Suns (2010-12).

In between his stops with Atlanta and Phoenix, Childress played two seasons with Olympiacos Piraeus, a Greek professional club. He averaged 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds overseas.
