Thursday's originally scheduled matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks will now be played on Monday, Nov. 26th at 7 p.m. (ET), the NBA office has announced.

The two Atlantic Division rivals were slated to open their respective 2012-13 seasons Thursday at the newly built Barclays Center, but the effects of superstorm Sandy on the New York area caused the league to postpone the contest.

Many of New York's public transportation systems remain either suspended or on limited schedules due to flooding caused by the storm.

The rescheduled contest will also be carried live nationally on TNT.

The Nets will now tip off their season by hosting Toronto on Saturday night, while the Knicks will play Friday at Madison Square Garden against the Miami Heat.
