Madrid, Spain – French Open champion Rafael Nadal will miss next week's ATP Masters event in Cincinnati, citing a knee problem.
The oft-injured Nadal also skipped the Olympics and this week's Masters tournament in Toronto because of physical issues.
The 26-year-old Nadal captured the French Open for a record seventh time in June.
The Western & Southern Open will get underway Sunday in Mason, Ohio.
