The hosts needed just two minutes to break the deadlock as Joao Moutinho converted a penalty for his first goal of the campaign.
Monaco held the narrow lead until the 71st minute when Yannick Ferreira- Carrasco provided an insurance goal, putting the match out of reach for Evian.
The results sees improve to 14 points to climb to 11th place in the Ligue 1 table.
Evian remains on 10 points to stay just one spot above the relegation zone.
Fabien Lemoine helped St. Etienne climb to fourth place in the table by scoring the 87th minute at the Stade du Moustoir to grant his side a 1-0 victory over Lorient.
Guingamp, meanwhile, climbed out of the Ligue 1 cellar by claiming a 2-1 victory over Lille behind goals from Claudio Beauvue and Ronnie Schwartz.
Elsewhere in Saturday's Ligue 1 slate, Johan Audel and Diego exchanged goals as Nantes played to a 1-1 draw with Reims, Floyd Ayite nabbed the lone goal in Bastia's 1-0 defeat of Nice and Metz was held to a 0-0 home draw by Rennes.
