New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - John Hirschbeck will serve as the crew chief for the 2013 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

Hirschbeck, with more than 30 years of experience, previously worked the World Series in 1995, 2006 and 2010 -- the last of which he also served as crew chief. He will be behind the plate for Game 1 on Wednesday and, if necessary, Game 7.

Joining Hirschbeck will be Mark Wegner, Dana DeMuth, Paul Emmel, Bill Miller and Jim Joyce.

Wegner and Emmel will umpire in the World Series for the first time, while DeMuth will work his fifth Fall Classic to join Gerry Davis and Joe West for the most among active umpires. Joyce will be part of a World Series staff for the third time and Miller will make his second appearance.
