Minneapolis, MN – Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill was released from a hospital Thursday and was then back on the practice field in the afternoon.
Kill collapsed and had a seizure on the field Saturday near the end of a 28-21 loss against New Mexico State.
"I'm pleased to report that Coach Kill has been discharged from care," said Gopher football team physician Dr. Pat Smith. "He is in good spirits and eager to get back to work. He has no restrictions and is free to return to work when he feels up to it."
The Gophers (0-2) are preparing to host Miami-Ohio on Saturday.
It was a scary scene last weekend. Cameras caught Kill on his back, surrounded by team personnel, and showed him flip onto his side and convulse as the game stopped and players from both teams looked to the sideline.
Kill, who is a kidney cancer survivor, was hired by Minnesota last December after leading Northern Illinois to three straight bowl appearances.
