Quito, Ecuador (SportsNetwork.com) - American Tyler McCumber fired a 2-under 70 on Sunday and he ran away with a 5-shot victory at the Ecuador Open.
McCumber, who finished the week at 13-under-par 275 at the Quito Tenis y Golf Club, picked up his first career win on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
It was not a great start for McCumber in his final round as he bogeyed two of the first three holes on one and three. He got one of those shots back with a birdie on the fourth, and after three straight pars, McCumber got back to even par with another gain at the par-5 eighth.
McCumber tripped to another bogey at the ninth, however, and he made the turn at 1-over. His third birdie of the day on No. 11 was followed by his fourth bogey on 13.
From there McCumber took control and finished things off well as he birdied three of the next four holes from No. 14. McCumber ended with a par at the last to claim his 5-shot victory.
Jose Toledo (70), Marcelo Rozo (71), Mitch Kryqulycz (71) and Mauricio Azcue (76) all ended tied for second at 8-under 280, while Jorge Fernandez-Valdes (66), Bryan Bigley (69) and Sebastian Vazquez (72) finished tied for sixth at minus-7.
