McCarthy comes off DL to start against Red Sox
Boston, MA – The Arizona Diamondbacks activated pitcher Brandon McCarthy from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Sunday's rubber match at Fenway Park.
McCarthy made 11 starts, going 2-4 with a 5.00 ERA, for Diamondbacks before landing on the DL June 1 with right shoulder inflammation.
The Diamondbacks cleared room on the roster by designating reliever Tony Sipp for assignment. Sipp was 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 48 appearances this season.
