Glasgow, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve May steered home his Scottish Premier League-leading 16th goal of the season on Tuesday as his St. Johnstone side earned a 1-0 win at Partick Thistle.

May's goal came in the 26th minute as he got on the end of square pass following a superb run and cutback from David Wotherspoon.

While Thistle pressed in search of an equalizer, St. Johnstone preserved the clean sheet to improve to 32 points on the season, bringing the club to within two points of fifth-place Dundee United.

Thistle is winless in its last three league matches, leaving the club second from bottom on 20 points.
