Former Virginia Cavaliers star cornerback Maurice Canady ran his 40-yard dash at the NFL combine Monday, but before taking the field Canady wrote the name of Prince William County police officer Ashley Guindon -- who was shot and killed Saturday while responding to a domestic incident -- on his cleats. Guindon had been sworn in the day before, and was working her first shift on the job.

Canady ran a 4.49-second dash wearing the cleats.

Canady isn't the only player using his platform at the combine to address social issues. Former Ohio State star Ezekiel Elliott wore a special pair of cleats to raise awareness for victims of domestic abuse last week.
