The game remained close in the second half, as neither team led by more than six until Princeton took just its second lead of the half, 56-55, with 3:33 left. But Demetrius Treadwell and Marshall hit back-to-back layups and Akron held Princeton to just two free throws over the final 3 minutes to seal the victory.

Akron converted 26 of 49 shots (53 percent) and posted its third straight game shooting over 50 percent from the field.
