Kansas City, MO – The Seattle Mariners recalled right-handed pitcher Blake Beavan from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday's game against the Royals.
Beavan spent a little more than a month in the minors after making 12 starts with the Mariners earlier this season. He went 3-6 with a 5.92 earned run average and allowed at least five earned runs in each of his last three outings.
In six starts during his stint in the minors, Beavan went 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA.
To make room on the roster, Seattle optioned pitcher Steve Delabar to Tacoma. He was 2-1 with a 4.18 ERA in 30 appearances over three stints with the major league club this year.
