Real Madrid will welcome Barcelona to the Bernabeu on Sunday for the latest installment of El Clasico, and it's a meeting with massive title implications for both clubs.
The Galacticos are in divine form at the moment, going 32 matches across all competitions without defeat. The club's last lost came in the form of a 2-1 league defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou on Oct. 26, 2013.
That run has catapulted Real Madrid to the top of the table with 70 points from 28 games, leaving the club three points clear of Atletico Madrid and four points ahead of Barcelona.
And with Atletico likely to get three points from its match against struggling Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday, El Clasico could go a long way toward deciding the title race.
Barcelona is coming off of a resounding 7-0 victory over Osasuna last time out, but it has not been enough to mask the club's recent stutter as the Catalans have tasted defeat in three of their last seven La Liga matches.
Real Madrid also won the corresponding fixture last season as Sergio Ramos netted the winner eight minutes from time at the Bernabeu.
Also on Sunday, Villarreal will head to the Mestalla to take on a Valencia side that is winless in its last three La Liga outings while Sevilla will travel to El Sadar to face Osasuna.
Athletic Bilbao has one foot in the final Champions League qualification spot, but it will look to continue its pursuit of European football next season with a positive result against Getafe at San Mames on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the Spanish top flight on Saturday, Elche heads to Los Carmenes to face Granada, Espanyol hosts Levante and Valladolid plays host to Rayo Vallecano in a match with relegation implications.
Monday's lone match will see Real Sociedad head to the Estadio Mediterraneo to face Almeria while Friday's only contest saw Ignacio Camacho net a brace in Malaga's 2-0 win at Celta Vigo.
