Michael Lyons set career highs with 33 points and seven 3-pointers as Air Force overcame abysmal first-half shooting to defeat The Citadel 77-70 in a nonconference affair Sunday.

Lyons was 11 of 16 from the field, including 7 of 12 on 3-point tries.

Air Force (2-0) trailed 30-28 at halftime after shooting 33.3 percent (9 of 27) in the first half.

The Falcons solved their shooting woes in the second, making 15 of 22 shots, including 10 of 17 from 3. Lyons was 6 of 8 in the second half, including 4 of 6 on 3-pointers, while Max Yon came off the bench in the second to make 4 of 5 shots, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs (1-1) dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Falcons 30-17, with Mike Groselle (17 points, eight rebounds) leading the way.

Lawrence Miller led The Citadel with 20 points.
