Lyon has reached an agreement for the signing of Fabian Monzon from Nice, while the club has also added midfielder Steed Malbranque.

Monzon spent last season with Nice after arriving at the club from Boca Juniors, and he impressed in his debut campaign in France, tallying eight goals in 34 league matches.

The 25-year-old will cost Lyon a reported fee of $5 million after he signed a deal with Lyon that ties him to the club until 2016, while Nice also received winger Jeremy Pied as part of the deal.

In addition to Monzon, Lyon signed Malbranque to a one-year deal after the veteran has been training with the team since the start of the summer.

The former Sunderland and Tottenham man began his career with Lyon 15 years ago, and he will serve as cover for injured midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
