Rome, Italy – Sam Little defeated Pelle Edberg in a playoff Sunday to win the Roma Golf Open 2011 and move atop the European Challenge Tour Order of Merit.
The victory was Little's third of the year and he inched past Tommy Fleetwood for first on the money list. This was the last full-field event of the year with the top 45 on the money list moving on to next week's Grand Final.
Little, who won in Russia and France earlier this year, shot a three-under 68, while Edberg fired a six-under 65. The pair finished regulation knotted at 11- under 273, but it was Little who visited the winner's circle.
Raymond Russell and Jose-Filipe Lima both carded rounds of two-under 69 and shared third at minus-10.
Callum Macaulay also shot a two-under 69 on Sunday and took fifth at nine- under par, followed by Colm Moriarty, whose one-under 70 got him sixth at minus-eight.
Third-round leader Gregory Molteni struggled to a five-over 76 and fell into a tie for 13th at minus-five.
