Grapevine, TX – Sabine Lisicki eased past Aravane Rezai in the finals at the inaugural $220,000 Texas Tennis Open, a final U.S. Open tuneup.
Lisicki earned her second title this season with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Rezai in just 49 minutes. She won in Birmingham earlier this season, and now holds a 3-2 career mark in finals.
The fifth-seeded German won 4-of-5 break points and 32-of-38 of her service points en route to the title.
It was the first final of the season for France's Rezai, who fell to 4-3 in title matches.
Rezai will face Italian Flavia Pennetta and Lisicki will face Ukranian Alona Bondarenko in the opening round of the U.S. Open.
Saturday's titlist collects $37,000.
