Hong Kong (SportsNetwork.com) - Top seed Sabine Lisicki was an easy quarterfinal winner Friday at the inaugural Hong Kong Open.

The 2013 Wimbledon runner-up from Germany handled Chinese Zheng Saisai 6-4, 6-3 on a rainy day at Victoria Park.

Lisicki's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be Italian former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone, who upset seventh-seeded Slovak Jana Cepelova 6-2, 6-2 on Day 5. Lisicki is 1-1 lifetime against the 34-year-old Schiavone.

The other semi will pit third-seeded Czech Karolina Pliskova against Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck. Pliskova pasted fifth-seeded Chinese Zheng Jie 6-1, 6-3, while the upstart Van Uytvanck downed Aussie qualifier Jarmila Gajdosova 6-4, 6-2 at this hardcourt event.

This week's champion will collect $43,000.
