Toronto, Canada – TAMPA (Reuters) - The Tampa Bay Lightning ended a 12-game losing streak against the Washington Capitals with a 7-4 victory on Tuesday.
Earlier, Tampa had raced into a first period 4-1 lead after an opening effort from Vincent Lecavalier, two goals from Steven Stamkos and a Stephane Veilleux wrist shot but the Capitals clawed their way back.
Tampa's victory was their first over Washington since November 16 2007.
