John Brown's putback as time expired gave Liberty an 83-81 overtime victory against North Carolina-Asheville on Thursday night.

Brown tipped in David Minaya's missed 3-point attempt with 2 seconds left as the entire Liberty team swarmed the junior guard in celebration.

The Flames (15-7, 9-1 Big South Conference) have won four straight and eight of their last nine contests.

Jesse Sanders led Liberty with 20 points. Minaya added 19 and Brown had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Evan Gordon nailed a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left in regulation, tying the score at 75 and sending the game into overtime. Gordon finished with 17 points for the Flames.

Matt Dickey scored 20 points, D.J. Cunningham added 16, Jaron Lane had 12 and John Williams 11 for the Bulldogs (10-10, 5-5), who shot 90 percent from the free-throw line (18 of 20).
