Toronto FC forward Danny Koevermans was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Week for Week 17 on Monday after he scored in both of Toronto's games last week.

The first was a 3-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Wednesday that saw the Dutchman net the third goal in the 78th minute from a cross courtesy of Ashtone Morgan.

And Koevermans continued his good run of form in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Red Bull New York as he scored the equalizer just two minutes after New York took the lead in the opening minutes of the match.

By scoring in both games, Koevermans has now scored at least one goal in his last four contests, taking his tally on the season to eight goals in 12 matches.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, radio media.
