Washington Capitals forward Mike Knuble will drop the ceremonial puck at the third annual Congressional Hockey Challenge charity hockey game.
The game will be played at 6 p.m. on March 10, at the Fort Dupont Ice Arena in Washington. Fort Dupont is the only public, indoor ice rink in the city, and is the home of the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club, the oldest minority youth hockey program in the U.S.
Also attending the event will be NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Capitals owner Ted Leonsis, Hockey Hall of Fame member Pat LaFontaine, NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes and NHL Director of Cause Marketing Willie O'Ree, who broke the NHL color barrier.
Among those playing in the game will be Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, and congressmen Larry Bucshon (Ind.), Brian Higgins (N.Y.), Pat Meehan (Pa.), Mike Quigley (Ill.) and Anthony Weiner (N.Y.).
Tickets can be purchased for a suggested donation of $10, and all proceeds will benefit the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club and Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena.
