Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll received a one-game suspension for his hit from behind on San Jose Sharks defenseman Ian White in Thursday night's Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

During a battle for the puck behind the San Jose net, Stoll put his shoulder into White's back and drove him from behind into the boards. White's head struck the glass and he went down to the ice. White ended up with a cut to his face and was helped to the Sharks' dressing room. He didn't return in what became a 3-2 overtime win for San Jose.

Stoll scored 20 goals and finished with 43 points in playing all 82 regular-season games for the Kings this season. Los Angeles is already playing without leading scorer Anze Kopitar, though they did get back forward Justin Williams from a shoulder injury in the series opener.
