St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Clayton Kershaw will start Tuesday for the Los Angeles Dodgers on three days' rest in Game 4 of the National League division series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly made the announcement Monday prior to Game 3. Veteran Dan Haren had been scheduled to go in Game 4.

Kershaw went 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA during the regular season, but the presumptive NL Cy Young Award winner gave up eight runs in a 10-9 defeat in Game 1.

The left-hander pitched on three days' rest last year in the Dodgers' division series against the Atlanta Braves. He allowed two unearned runs on three hits over six innings.

Mattingly also said that Zack Greinke would start in Game 5, which, if necessary, would be played Thursday at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers and Cardinals are tied at one game apiece going into Monday's game.
