New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky is the undisputed No. 1 team in the country for a third straight week.
The Wildcats remained a unanimous choice as the top-ranked team in the latest Associated Press men's college basketball poll, receiving all 65 first-place votes and a total of 1,625 points from a nationwide media panel.
Kentucky, the lone unbeaten team in Division I men's play, is again followed by Virginia, Gonzaga, Duke, Wisconsin, Villanova, Arizona and Kansas as the top eight teams remained the same from last week.
Utah moved up two spots from 11th into ninth and Notre Dame again is 10th.
The second 10 consists of Northern Iowa, Louisville, Wichita State, Iowa State, North Carolina, Maryland, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Butler and Baylor. Louisville dipped three places from ninth after Saturday's home loss to North Carolina State and Baylor fell four spots from 16th after a pair of losses. Arkansas had the biggest jump within the poll, rising six places from 24th.
SMU, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Ohio State and VCU are the last five teams ranked. VCU tumbled five spots from 20th after a double-overtime loss to La Salle last week.
There are no newcomers this week.
In addition to Monday's tussle between Kansas and West Virginia, the Big 12 has two other ranked matchups. On Wednesday, Iowa State visits Oklahoma State and the Cowboys will also host West Virginia on Saturday.
The only other ranked matchup this week features the first of two showdowns between arch-rivals Duke and North Carolina on Wednesday in Durham.
