New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky followed a difficult opening week of SEC play with a pair of blowout wins to maintain the No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press men's college basketball poll.

The Wildcats opened conference play with overtime victories against Ole Miss and Texas A&M, then last week crushed both Missouri and Alabama to remain one of two undefeated teams in major college basketball.

Kentucky again received 63 first-place votes and a total of 1,623 points from a nationwide media panel. The only two other No. 1 votes went again to Virginia, which is also unbeaten after topping Clemson and Boston College last week.

Gonzaga held firmly at No. 3, but Villanova and Duke swapped places. The Blue Devils dropped a spot into fifth after splitting two games last week, falling at home to Miami-Florida before going into Louisville and coming away with a 63-52 triumph.

Louisville dropped four spots to 10th after the loss. Wisconsin, Arizona, Notre Dame and Iowa State moved ahead of the Cardinals.

The second 10 features Kansas, Utah, Maryland, Wichita State, North Carolina, VCU, Texas, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Northern Iowa. Utah dropped four spots from eighth after Saturday's loss to Arizona, while Texas and Northern Iowa each moved up three places from last week.

Baylor, Dayton, Indiana, Seton Hall and Iowa are the last five teams ranked. Dayton, Indiana and Iowa are this week's newcomers, each entering the poll for the first time this season.

Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Wyoming each fell out of the poll. Arkansas was 19th and lost twice last week, while Oklahoma State had a one-week stay at No. 24 and also lost twice. Wyoming was ranked for the first time since 1988, entering at No. 25, but lost to San Diego State before a triple-overtime win over Fresno State.

This week's ranked matchups, in addition to Monday's Big 12 battle between Kansas and Oklahoma, includes a pair of Big Ten tussles. Wisconsin will host Iowa on Tuesday and Maryland will visit Indiana on Thursday. Saturday's slate features Kansas at Texas and Oklahoma at Baylor in the Big 12.
