Justin Greene scored 18 points and Kent State used a 6-0 run in the final 1:35 to defeat Ohio 69-66 on Saturday night.

The Golden Flashes (11-6, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) trailed 66-63 with 1:59 left when Eric Gaines tipped in a missed layup by Rodriguez Sherman to spark Kent State's run.

Carlton Guyton then hit two free throws to give the Golden Flashes the lead for good, 67-66, with 24 seconds to play. On Ohio's ensuing possession Sherman stole the ball from Ivo Baltic and scored on a layup with 10 seconds left for the final margin.

Greene also had eight rebounds to lead Kent State, which won the battle of the boards 38-25.

D.J. Cooper led four Ohio players in double figures with 17 points. DeVaughn Washington added 16, Tommy Freeman 12 and Baltic 11 for the Bobcats (8-9, 1-2).

Ohio shot just 52.4 percent from the free-throw line (11 of 21).
