Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson, Tampa Bay Lightning forward Teddy Purcell and Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen have been selected as the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending February 26.

Karlsson snagged the First Star with a monster week, picking up four goals and eight assists in four games for the surging Sens.

His best performance of the week came in last Monday's 6-0 win at Uniondale, tallying two goals and two assists. On Sunday, he set a new club record (first accomplished by Norm Maciver with 63 in 1992-93) for most points in one season by a rearguard after notching a pair of helpers.

The 21-year-old is tied atop the league for goals by a defenseman with 14, while his 51 assists and 65 points puts him atop the NHL in both categories.

Purcell earned Second Star honors by recording a trifecta of three-point efforts and earning at least one point in all four of the Bolts' contests last week. He recorded three goals and 10 points total. The 26-year-old currently carries a six-game point streak (4G, 9A).

Third Star went to the Finnish netminder, who won all three starts last week, besting Montreal, Minnesota and Vancouver. He blanked the Habs on 31 saves to record his second shutout of the season on February 21.
