Giorgio Chiellini scored in the second half and 1 draw against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday.

Daniele De Rossi put Roma in front after five minutes, but Chiellini canceled out his effort just after the hour mark before Totti's spot kick was saved by Buffon to preserve a point for the visitors.

Juventus joins Udinese at the top of the league with the result, which also keeps the club unbeaten through 14 Serie A games.

The hosts got off to a flying start by taking the lead inside of five minutes as Totti's left-wing cross was volleyed toward the left post by De Rossi, who didn't catch the ball cleanly.

However, Juve's Arturo Vidal missed the ball as he attempted to clear it, allowing it to roll over the goal line.

The visitors responded well and Marcelo Estigarribia had two shots saved by Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg to keep the hosts in front.

But Roma was unable to hold the lead as the game reached the hour mark with Estigarribia scuffing a volley from inside the area that fell into the path of Chiellini.

The defender lunged forward and got his head to the ball just before Stekelenburg, sending it past the 'keeper and into the net.

Roma was handed a great chance to restore its lead one minute later when Vidal tripped Roma's Erik Lamela inside the penalty area, but Buffon produced a save on Totti's penalty kick by diving to his right to parry the shot.
