Rotterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - A goal in each half from Aron Johansson allowed AZ Alkmaar to claim a 2-2 draw at Feyenoord on Sunday, leaving the club one point back of Eredivisie leaders Vitesse.
Johansson had AZ in front at halftime with a 17th-minute goal, but Feyenoord put together a strong surge early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead.
Mitchell Te Vrede equalized in the 48th for the home side and Lex Immers followed with another goal for Feyenoord three minutes later.
However, AZ salvaged a point in the 57th minute when Johansson converted from the penalty spot for his ninth goal of the campaign.
Ajax moved to within a point of AZ on Sunday by securing a 3-0 win at last- place NEC with two goals from Siem De Jong and another courtesy of Nicolai Boilesen.
PSV Eindhoven dropped to eighth place after losing 2-1 at NAC as Kees Kwakman scored twice in the second half for NAC to cancel out a first-half goal from PSV's Jurgen Locadia.
Sunday's other match saw Quincy Promes score in the 72nd minute to help Twente earn a 1-1 draw at Zwolle.
