The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Ben Obomanu and officially placed quarterback David Garrard on the retired list.

Obomanu spent his first six NFL seasons with the Seahawks before being released in March. He has 87 receptions for 1,209 yards with seven touchdowns in 66 games, and in 2012 caught just four passes for 58 yards in only eight games.

Garrard joined the Jets as a free agent in March and earlier this month told a media outlet he was going to call it quits due to lingering knee issues.
