Moscow, Russia (SportsNetwork.com) - Former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic and former U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur were among Thursday's second-round winners at Kremlin Cup indoor tennis event.

The fourth-seeded former French Open titlist Ivanovic whipped Czech Klara Zakopalova 6-3, 6-1, while the seventh-seeded Stosur stifled France's Alize Cornet 6-4, 6-1 on Day 4 at Olympic Stadium. The hot Stosur is fresh off her title in Osaka, Japan, while Ivanovic was a runner-up in Linz, Austria, last week.

Also on Thursday, fifth-seeded rising Romanian Simona Halep subdued Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova 6-2, retired, while veteran Slovak Daniela Hantuchova overcame Serbian qualifier Vesna Dolonc 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Friday's quarterfinals will pit second-seeded Italian Roberta Vinci against eighth-seeded two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, Ivanovic versus Stosur, Halep against Russian wild card Alisa Kleybanova, and Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova versus Hantuchova.

The winner of this $797,707 tournament will receive $132,470.
