Sochi, Russia (SportsNetwork.com) - The Italian Olympic Committee confirmed on Friday that bobsledder William Frullani was removed from the Sochi Olympics following a positive drug test.

According to a release by the committee on its website, Frullani tested positive for the stimulant dimethylamphetamine.

The 34-year-old Frullani was scheduled to be part of Italy's four-man bobsled team in the first two of four heats on tap for Saturday, but will be replaced by Samuele Romanini.
