Tokyo, Japan – Japan's Kazuto Ioka won a 12-round unanimous decision over Juan Hernandez of Mexico on Wednesday to retain his WBC strawweight belt.
In his first title defense since winning the belt from Oleydong Sithsamerchai in February, Ioka (8-0) beat Juan Hernandez on scorecards that read 116-112, 117-111 and 118-111.
Hernandez (18-2), the No. 1 contender, was appearing in his first career title fight and first bout outside Mexico.
