Verona, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Inter Milan moved into fourth place in Serie A with a 2-0 win at Hellas Verona on Saturday, extending the Nerazzurri's unbeaten streak to six games.
Both sides entered the match in contention for a Europa League place and Inter snatched the lead after 13 minutes through Rodrigo Palacio before Jonathan doubled the advantage in the second half.
Inter started well and nearly took the lead in the opening five minutes as Mauro Icardo headed a cross from Freddy Guarin against the crossbar.
Palacio was on target eight minutes later when some good work from Jonathan set him up for an easy finish that put the visitors in front.
Hernanes struck the crossbar with a second-half free kick for Inter, which continued to search for a second goal and a bit of breathing room.
Jonathan provided the goal in the 63rd after Hernanes was instrumental in the build up, and Inter now sits two points clear of fifth-place Fiorentina, which faces Chievo on Sunday.
