Indianapolis Colts waive LB Monte Simmons, await update on Hewyard-Bey

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts put linebacker Monte Simmons on waivers Monday.

Simmons joined the Colts practice squad on Oct. 23 after spending the 2011 season on San Francisco's practice squad.

The Colts did not immediately announce a corresponding signing.

Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey missed practice Monday morning with a sprained left knee. An update on his condition was not expected until after the Colts' afternoon workout.
