In the Big Easy, a trying 0-27 campaign tests the patience, character of UNO women's team

Losing the first 27 games of her college career has taught New Orleans freshman guard Octavia Wilson a lot about how much basketball means to her.

She's not about to recommend other athletes experience an entire season without a victory, which is what will happen if UNO doesn't win one of its final two games this week. She only hopes she'll be able to look back on this season as pivotal test of character on the way to future success.

It appears Keeshawn Davenport will continue coaching the program for which she once played. Athletic director Derek Morel says he's confident in Davenport's plan and says sometimes it pays to be patient.

Davenport says her young, inexperienced team is improving, even if the record doesn't show it.
