Stuttgart, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Stuttgart forward Vedad Ibisevic has signed a one-year contract extension that ties him to the club until June 2017.
Ibisevic still had two years remaining on his current contract, but the move might drive opposing teams away from Ibisevic, who had been drawing interest this summer from West Ham among other teams.
A former Hoffenheim striker, Ibisevic made the move to Stuttgart in January 2012 and has since tallied 33 goals in 72 Bundesliga matches for the club.
The 30-year-old represented Bosnia-Herzegovina at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, and he is pleased to lock up his future with Stuttgart.
"I love playing for Stuttgart, so I am delighted [to sign a new deal]," Ibisevic told Stuttgart's website.
"We can develop something here again, and I would like to contribute with my services. We can experience all together better times with the club."
